Finishing a long season of basketball has left my nails very short! Although it has always been my favorite game to watch, the nail-biting ticking of the clock and bursts of fast-moving plays always makes for a what-will-happen-next experience.

“Life is often like observing live sporting events. There are shocks and surprises, frustrations and fears, because we are unsure of the outcome." Bill Crowder

When watching a REPLAY of the game, things change. The tenseness and anxiety felt in the actual game is gone because the outcome has already been determined. Now the focus is on the how-well-it-worked strategy and individual game play.

Here are some questions that can only be answered by viewing a REPLAY of a game. Questions like: How did a certain player get the most rebounds? How well and how often did the offense/defense strategy work? How much time was wasted getting a shot up? These and many other “how” questions can only be answered by a careful REPLAY review.

As followers of Christ, we live in a what-will-happen-next world but we operate with a REPLAY in hand. As “believers”, God’s Word tells us the end of the story as well as how to get there. Even through uncertain times, our eternal destination is settled. We can be sure of the outcome...that our hereafter is forever with Him…and we win!

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

God’s Word also tells us that there will be a REPLAY of our lives – a divine accounting of the “how” questions of our life story.

…each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Romans 14:12

This divine REPLAY will bring clarity to the “hows” that we cannot see or understand now…it’s an accounting that will “add to” rather than “take away from” as we live out God’s word here.

Blessings…as you live in the certainty of eternity and in the confidence of the DIVINE REPLAY.
