Yesterday our family celebrated heaven ... it marked the 19th year since our 21-year-old daughter unexpectedly left this earth to make heaven her home. Like any parent we still ask the standard parent-type questions. One is, "What's up?" Here are the answers she would give ...
"THERE IS SO MUCH PLEASURE HERE! The scripture you used at my memorial service says it all."
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
"All the things that brought me wholesome pleasure is what I have here. The enjoyment I get from my God-shaped interests is so much greater ... I can't even explain it but it is so good!"
"... the Bible says heaven will be a total experience of newness that touches everything about us and everything we do. Not just better singing and sermons. Not just better food options at church potlucks. Better everything. The very best of everything. Renewed, remade, reborn." Coach Joe Gibbs
"IT'S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Mom, you'll love it! Remember what God promised?"
"I will create new heavens and a new earth." Isaiah 65:17
"It is new alright...everything I knew there is now perfect here. My stomach aches are gone, I can go anywhere in safety - being free has a whole new meaning!"
"
"...we're going to live in a place we've never been before, it will contain perfected elements of things we've always known. But instead of fatigue and physical limitations, we'll have total freedom of enjoyment." Coach Joe Gibbs
"COMPLETE TRUST IS EVERYWHERE! I can trust everyone ... GOD reigns! Remember my favorite verse that was underlined in my Bible?"
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
"It's true! His paths are everywhere...I get to walk on them and talk with Him - no one keeps me from it. There is no fear of getting lost here."
"Instead of sin's empty promises, we'll know constant satisfaction. Instead of having to lock our doors and watch our backs, we'll learn what it really means to live without fear of anything." Coach Joe Gibbs
"OH YES... AND TELL EVERYONE NOT TO MISS IT!"
... so is life BEHIND THE BENCH.
