Throughout his life, Johnny sought the Lord’s strength to live each day for Him. He became
a three-time All-American basketball player at Purdue University and one of the greatest college coaches of all time. When Coach John Wooden died at the age of 99, he was honored most of all for his character, his faith, and the many lives he touched. (Account by David McCasland)
The take away from Coach Wooden’s life lies not only in his ability to coach, but in the deep roots of faith that produced his strong character. His life witness continues today offering us FOUR D's on which to build our lives…
#DRINK DEEPLY FROM GOD’S WORD
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11
#DEDICATE EACH DAY TO GOD AS A MASTERPIECE OF PRAISE
…we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings ever greater glory, which comes from the Lord... 2 Corinthians 3:18 NCV
#DEPEND ON GOD FOR GUIDANCE AND PROTECTION
The LORD will guide you continually. Isaiah 58:11
If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me,and your strength will support me. Psalm 139:10
#DELIGHT IN GOD’S PROVISION THANKING HIM ALWAYS
Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20
Today I leave you with these FOUR D’s ...easily spoken, perhaps overlooked because of their simplicity, but certainly all things we can do if we so choose.
Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. John Wooden
Blessings…as you drink deeply, dedicate daily, depend endlessly and delight regularly in all of God’s goodness.
