Coaches will often urge a player to GO DEEP. This means, get out of your normal zone and go where the other team poses little threat in order to catch a pass or make a play that will take the ball to the desired goal. GO WIDE often means to cover your territory and beyond with availability thereby outflanking the opponent. These strategic moves force the opposing team to cover the entire field or court. Measurable advantage is gained by both going deep and going wide.
God's Word urges us to GO DEEP AND GO WIDE …
#GO DEEP God is deep into us with a love that penetrates our daily lives. The lake of His love is so deep that we cannot see the bottom of it. In the 107th Psalm David lists 12 instances of God’s deep and abiding love for His people. He closes with this statement…
“… it’s time you appreciated God’s deep love.” Psalm 107:43 The Message
CHALLENGE: “Plumb the depths” of God's love for you. (see Ephesians 3:19 in The Message)
#GO WIDE God’s love is so wide that it encompasses everyone – the good, the bad and the indifferent.
“God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NCV
CHALLENGE: “Experience the breadth” of God's love for those around you. (see Ephesians 3:19 in The Message)
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FOUNTAIN OF GOD’S LOVE – GO DEEP AND GO WIDE!
