...IS TO COME

Someone once wrote, "The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time." Fully knowing the challenges ahead of us could certainly derail our resolve for today. It is the unknown that pushes us onward toward the future.

Each time a sport team takes the field or floor of competition, they do so not knowing what the outcome of that encounter will be.  They prepare for it with focused practice, new plays to attack the opponent’s weakness and endless hours of viewing play videos.  All of these preparations are necessary.  But it is only in the actual eyeball to eyeball of play that reveals what IS TO COME.

As  followers of Christ, we have an IS-TO-COME promise that reaches far beyond the happenings of today. Although we cannot know who and what our tomorrows here on this earth may bring, we are sure of our eternal destination.

                                               WE ARE SURE OF WHAT IS TO COME!
(God) …set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:22 NIV

Unlike the unknowns of each day, our forever future is sealed making us sure of what IS TO COME.

PRAYER:  Thank you for your assurance of who and what IS TO COME, Lord.  With these promises I will push ahead through the unknown challenges of this life.  Thank you for continually preparing me one day at a time for my forever future with you.   In Jesus Name, Amen.
