This past summer I visited with grade-school friends at a 50-year high school reunion. It was amazing to experience the connection between us as we laughed, recalled, and updated. The hopes we all carried for our lives took a back seat that day to the hope that these lingering friendships brought.
Hope is the blessed gift of a lingering friendship.
Friendship between team members both on and off the courts and fields of sport activities is the immeasurable ingredient to a strong and effective season. No amount of practice or training can make lingering friendships – it requires a decision.
Our hearts yearn for faithful, forgiving friends…BFF’s that bring hope and help into our lives. God’s Word reminds us that in order to have one we must be one!
