LOVING RESOLVE

Note: Summer issues focus on our word for the year - RESOLVE

The essence of LOVING RESOLVE can be found in the letter “S”.  It offers us a glimpse into the profound staple of life which is love…

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.  I Corinthians 13:13 NIV

HOW DO YOU LOVE?

Love STARTS                                                                                                                                                          …is unafraid to begin to love - does not wait to see if it will be returned.

Love STAYS                                                                                                                                                             …willingly responds with, “Regardless of the outcome, my love remains.” It does not say, “I might hang around if you do and say the right thing.”

Love SUBMITS                                                                                                                                                        …quickly serves another and willingly adjusts to change.

Love SACRIFICES                                                                                                                                                   …gives without getting…it can be costly and difficult but it is always rewarding even without a ‘thank you’.

Love SURPRISES                                                                                                                                                    …restoring that which is broken. Ask yourself this question:  Who doesn’t deserve my love? Then shock them by choosing to re-love.  Our job is to mend a broken heart, to lift up those who stumble and to bring healing to a world that longs for it.

Love SHOWS UP                                                                                                                                                           …cannot be hidden revealing our hearts.

“To love before knowing may be possible … to love after knowing is precious.” jb

 HOW DOES GOD LOVE?

He STARTS…always moves toward us initiating relationship.                                                                         He STAYS… no matter what…He is our endless and deep companion.                                                         He SUBMITS…allowing us to choose His love.
He SACRIFICED…giving his life for us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
He SURPRISES…Jesus washed Judas' feet, the one He knew would betray him.                                      He SHOWS UP…
continually present with His loving care upon us.

For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain.  Isaiah 54:10 NLT

Make yourself at home in God’s love and remain intimately in it (see John 15:9-10 The Message). Then allow it to shine through you to a world that desperately longs for it.

RESOLVE #7:  BECAUSE GOD SHINES HIS LOVE ON ME...                                                                                                         I CHOOSE TO SHOWER LOVE ON OTHERS.
