Problems come when we do life but, as we all know, where there is no pain, there is no gain. Ask any athlete about the grueling hours of sweat it takes to be ready to get the job done. In the end, WHO’S COUNTING? Joy is found in being prepared which brings a deep sense of fulfillment and often the much sought-after win.
“Keep on keeping on” is a phrase that was indelibly etched on my mind as I grew up. No matter what, I was taught to focus on the future goal and go for it. I learned that I could become stuck in a sense of hopelessness by counting the hours of pursuit. This count-it-all-joy approach has kept me from many-a personal pity party!
“You miss 100 percent of all the shots you never take.” Wayne Gretzky
As we take on the day along with its challenges, let’s experience the pure joy of counting the things that count…
Count your blessings, not your crosses.
Count your gains, not your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes.
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your health, not your wealth.
-Old Proverb-
When we gain focus on our counting, we find that LITTLE IS MUCH WHEN GOD IS IN IT! After all, we don’t want to miss 100% of God’s blessings that we never planned for
“Lord my God, you have done many miracles. Your plans for us are many. If I tried to tell them all, there would be too many to count.” Psalm 40:5 NCV
Blessings…as you spend some time counting.
