A WORD TO THE WISE

Wise advice from BEHIND THE BENCH . . .

"Don't talk too much. Don't pop off. Don't talk after the game until you cool off."  Coach Bear Bryant

And here are some words from SOLOMON'S BOOK OF PROVERBS* a book of practical wisdom  with proven principles to help us live lives that please God . . .

Wise living gets rewarded with honor; stupid living gets the booby prize.  (3:33)

Save your breath for the wise—they'll be wiser for it; tell good people what you know—they'll profit from it.  (9:7)

The wise accumulate knowledge—a true treasure; know-it-alls talk too much—a sheer waste.  (10:14)

Fools are headstrong and do what they like; wise people take advice.  (12:15)

Rash language cuts and maims, but there is healing in the words of the wise.  (12:18)

Grow a wise heart—you'll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head—you'll find a good life.  (19:8)

Knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart; a wise person draws from the well within.  (10:5)

It's better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day.  (24:5a)

*Quotes are from THE MESSAGE version of Proverbs
