ANOTHER SORT OF GIVE 'n TAKE

Some years ago, my clothes closet needed some GIVE and TAKE attention.  There was just too much taking and not enough giving...translation?  Too many clothes in my closet.

I stumbled upon a solution that not only offers ample room in my closet but also requires regular review of what is there.  I decided to GIVE away the same number of personal clothing items that I TAKE away from a store.

Max Lucado writes this about the dynamic of GIVE and TAKE when developing a schedule:

"With every 'yes' in your schedule, there is an equal and opposite 'no' reaction. When I said yes to another speaking engagement, I said no to another family dinner. When I said yes to another meeting, I said no to my girls’ volleyball game. When I said yes to another book tour, I said no to taking a walk with my wife."

The stress that comes to us from the outside can be handily neutralized by giving it over to God.  However, the distress that we create is rooted in our own scheduling of time, interests and responsibilities.  Distress erodes the peace that God intends and Jesus promised.

This sort of GIVE and TAKE approach to scheduling and even your closet is worth serious consideration for any sportmom who sits BEHIND THE
BENCH.
