Asking questions of my husband about the game right after the game can be a perilous endeavor! Win or lose, his thoughts are wrapped up in every aspect of what just occurred. If it was a win...how great the players executed the game plan. If it was a loss...reviewing and reviewing and reviewing what he did wrong. So asking questions is out of the question at that time.
Later, however, (like the next day) Coach is ready to talk about it and then a question or two is fine. Asking and timing go together like bread and butter, like basketballs and hoops, footballs and end zones, bats and balls, volleys and nets, tennis shoes and tracks, and soccer balls and feet. All of these require timing and so do my questions. It's been 44 years and I am still working on it!
And so is life BEHIND THE BENCH...
