Long before I sat BEHIND THE BENCH and as a young girl, a silly little skit (no videos back then) was used at our church youth camp. Although it was good for just a laugh then, it works well today as we consider our SPORTMOM E-votional for today on "weariness in well-doing". Here it is...
There was a family who lived out in open-range land. As they were settling in for the everning a loud howl was heard. (howl)
The tired father looking at his wife, " Mom, will you see what that is? I'm just too tired to move!" (howl becomes louder)
The weary mother turns to the oldest child, "Billy, will you see what that is? I'm just too tired to move!" (howl is now louder and longer)
Billy turns to his sister, "Mary Beth, will you see what that is? I'm just to tired to move!" (howl continues)
Mary Beth turns to her little brother, "Bobby Joe, will you see what that is? I'm just too tired to move!"
Bobby Joe sighs lazily, gets up, shuffles across the room to the window, slowly pulls back the curtain and peers out. Then he returns to his comfortable chair and nestles back in. (the howling continues)
Finally the tired Father asks, "Mom, what is it?"
The weary Mother, "Billy, what is it?"
Dead-tired Billy, "Mary Beth, what is it?"
Sleepy Mary-Beth, "Bobby Joe, what is it?"
Comfy Bobby Joe slowly answers, "It's a coyote sittin' on a cactus - he's just too tired to move!"
