The boiling waters of life can make us want to jump out of the pan! But the amazing outcomes of letting the boiling water do its work can bring a luscious contentment to living!
The BOILING WATER of a tough and hard-fought sport season molds and makes an athlete’s character. Wins confirm what he/she can be and losses provide the opportunity to persevere. Both produce true humility.
"Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." John Wooden, legendary UCLA basketball coach
The Christian journey is full of times when we are dipped into the BOILING WATER of catastrophe. To persevere through these times calls for continuing to trust God while holding on to the promise of the cross and purposefully accessing the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 2:4 NIV
As we exercise perseverance we will find ourselves echoing the Apostle Paul’s response to his uncomfortable circumstances.
“…I have learned to be content in any circumstance.” Philippians 4:7b NET
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: DO THE BOILING WATERS OF LIFE REVEAL THE YOU THAT GOD INTENDS YOU TO BE?
PRAYER: As life unfolds before me let perseverance finish its work in me, oh Lord. May the circumstances I face teach me to be content, produce humility in me, and mold me into your designed purpose. Thank you for each BOILING WATER experience for I know it will soften me or toughen me according to your plan. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
