CHANGED

On the battlefields of conflict, our American soldiers CHANGED the course of history. With intense fervor they have protected our nation giving all of themselves and many with their lives who we remember with honor this weekend.

It has been nearly 50 years of coaching for my husband.  By walking into his gym players have readied themselves to walk into their adult life.  In the years since we have welcomed them back through the doors of our home.  They come with one overriding message:  Coach, you CHANGED my life.

Opportunities for change are all around us.  Sometimes it is forced onto us by unexpected events.  Other times we get to choose if we will adapt to a new set of challenges. Either way we end up different – we’re CHANGED!

“In my life . . . [everything] that I thought was a crushing event at the time has turned out for the better.”  Warren Buffet, Financial Expert

We were forever CHANGED nearly 21 years ago.  It was a forced change.  We lost our 21-year-old daughter, Jayme, in a car accident. The change was immediate and life-altering.  Half of our children taken away, half of every parenting responsibility we had was gone, half of our dreams were shattered, half of our attention was void…massive change was ours to experience.

"None of us knows what the next change is going to be, what unexpected opportunity is just around the corner, waiting to change all the tenor of our lives."
Kathleen Norris contemporary American Christian author and poetess

Along with our forever CHANGED life on this earth is the change of address for Jayme -  “forever with our Lord”.

“ …we are all going to be changed...everything perishable taken off the shelves and replaced by the imperishable, this mortal replaced by the immortal.”  I Corinthians 15: 51 & 53 (portions)

“I'm going to be changed! You're going to be changed! We're not talking about a new wardrobe or haircut. We're not talking about a new car or a new place to live. We are talking major, heavy duty overhaul! We're going to be made immortal. We're going to become indestructible. We will no longer be perishable goods! We're bound for glory.”  Kaanapali Beach Ministry

“Change” is present and future…”CHANGED” is already done!

PRAYER: “O God, give us serenity to accept what cannot be changed; courage to change what should be changed; and wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.”  Renihold Neibuhr

Blessings…as you celebrate The One who changed you, what has changed and anticipate what will be changed.

By the end, after your diverse examples of change has softened natural resistances, you present the most vital change. The sweet Holy Spirit was gently taking many outreached hands for the first time right at that point. Your words 'looked one right in the eye Billy Graham Style
