This week we may find ourselves going to a relative or friend's home for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. As we arrive, we look forward to warm greetings, happy faces, and good visits with those we may not regularly see. We ENTER INTO this setting with hopeful hearts and tummies.
One of the special things about Thanksgiving when I was very young was the "celery house" that my Dad built one year. It amazed me with windows, a roof and a doorway. Taking my small clothespin doll (those of you over 60 probably remember these) with its painted face, I would walk it up to the open doorway where it would ENTER INTO the house made of celery. Did I like celery? A big and resounding "no".... but I loved how it looked and what I could do with it when it was made into a house for the Thanksgiving Dinner table.
God's Word tells us to...
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4
As we ENTER INTO relationship around the Thanksgiving table, may our hearts also ENTER INTO the gates of God's presence with abounding gratefulness. May we appreciate not only what He has provided, but who He is...our Creator, our Savior, our Redeemer, our Friend, our Counselor and so much more.
And it is His expressed desire to ENTER INTO our lives permeating us with His spirit.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the
door, I will enter in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelations 3:20
Blessings...as you ENTER INTO His gates with thanksgiving.
