A fine athlete is a confident athlete. It is one who trusts in those who lead, believes in the plan ahead, has faith that the set goals will be met and does it all with courage and boldness. The result is a display of worthy leadership both on and off the field or court.
While enjoying the milk and honey of the promised land, God’s chosen people., the Israelites, received a challenge from the prophet, Jeremiah, not to forget what they had come through to get to that land. He reminded them that their ULTIMATE CONFIDENCE needs to remain in the living God if they don’t want to be like a dried up bush…
“…blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose CONFIDENCE IS in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8
ULTIMATE CONFIDENCE comes as we put our total trust in the One who made us. A deep and abiding belief that He will take care of us overwhelms our spirit when we release our circumstances into His control. In turn we reflect a truly confident spirit because of His strength withinu s.
